Crosswalk of Sky-Ravinn
A three act development of my growth in navigating the world of my intersectionality.
The biases I had as a child, the process of learning to break those biases, and finally the ever changing future and the twirling whirlwind of changing ideas with fading memories and hope for the future.
This piece isn’t over because I am not.
I don’t know where my crosswalk ends, but I hope through this you see that your crosswalk is beauty.
Beauty of Black is stating, “I am Black and... “ Beauty in your story and your story is beauty.
Work by
Sky-Ravinn Ffrench is an up and coming queer Jamican-German-Canadian musician, and the lead singer and bass player in Pigeon the Band. Building on their roots in slam poetry and performance, Crosswalk of Sky-Ravinn, has given them new and great skills in filming and editing.
They have also been working with youth in the arts, for 4+ years with Bravo Academy’s Musical Summer Camps and various musical productions, Centauri Arts Summer Camp, and currently a peer mentor with Toby’s place a drop-in centre for 2SLGBTQ+ youth and young adults. Being a self taught musician from a low income household, Sky hopes to build a space for youth in the future, to help make a passion
in the arts more accessible.
