Financial Literacy is crucial for achieving Financial Security. This workshop for emerging artists will help you gain confidence by understanding the finance basics including budgeting, credit and savings that can increase financial skills and knowledge for the digital age.

MEET YOUR MENTORS

VIJAY MATHEW

Vijay is a well traversed and seasoned RBC banker with over 13 years’ experience in personal and commercial banking helping clients thrives and communities prosper.

In Vijay’s current role as a Commercial Account Manager, he works with a diverse portfolio of media & entertainment clients, ranging from film & tv production companies to music labels and publishes, to digital media and gaming studios. He is driven by the opportunity to make a positive impact in the industry, and to help clients succeed in a competitive and dynamic market.

Previously, Vijay held leadership roles in RBC as a Branch Manager and then a Regional Sales Coach supporting the East Toronto Regional Vice President and coached 22 Branch Managers to grow & develop their teams by leading with a growth mindset.

Vijay spends much of his time outside of work being an active member in his community. Vijay’s passion for giving back is centered on Youth Education, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship. He is an active mentor and advisor with Junior Achievement participating in various programs and events.

MICHAEL STEINBERG

Michael has worked with both private and public companies in the film and television sector, with domestic and international production, distribution and broadcast partners around the globe. He has headed up legal and operations departments, led strategic planning initiatives and new business development. Working with independent production companies, Michael has also overseen the creative development, financing, production and sale of hundreds of hours of award-­‐winning programming. This past industry experience helps to support his clients’ business needs, growth and success, identifying creative banking solutions for each unique business.

During his downtime, he is passionate about road biking, cooking for family and friends and is a neophyte beekeeper. Michael holds a combined MBA/LLB from the Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Hall at York University.
