Jayu is proud to sit on a human rights themed panel following eOne’s special Opening Night Presentation of Desert Dancer. Desert Dancer follows the true, inspiring story of a brave Iranian dancer, Afshin  Ghaffarian. Set in Tehran during the volatile climate of the 2009 presidential election and the start of the “Green Movement,” Afshin and a group of dancers (including “Elaheh” played by Freida Pinto) risk their lives and form an underground dance company.

The film will screen on Friday April 17th at 7:00PM at Cineplex Yonge & Dundas. Tickets are available for purchase at the box office.

There will be a special Silent Auction with proceeds going towards several human rights organizations including Jayu.
