Welcome to the registration page for the iAM Poetry Program, an initiative that provides free photography and social justice training to youth aged 12-25. To learn more about our iAM program, visit jayu.ca/iam.


The iAM Spoken Word Poetry Program returns as an Intensive Workshop! This is the perfect opportunity to grow your writing and performing skills while being mentored by some of our city's top artists. Entry to the program is free and is limited to the first sixteen (16) participants who sign up. Must be between the ages of 12-25 and a resident of Toronto.

Program Details:

  • Intensive 4 Day Workshop

  • Monday, August 12, 2019 to Thursday, August 15, 2019


  • 10am to 2pm, each day


  • Writing materials, TTC tokens, and lunch will be provided

  • No prior writing experience necessary

  • Meet new people in a fully accessible, inclusive environment


  • Must agree to attend each workshop for the full 4hrs 


  • Must be between the ages of 12-25 and a resident of Toronto

  • Certificate of completion will be handed out on final day of residency

  • Paid opportunities to come back as a junior mentor for future #iAMPoetry workshops upon completion of program will also be offered

Workshop Locations:

All workshops will take place at JAYU HQ located at 401 Richmond St. West (at Spadina) in suite 354. [401 Richmond Arts Building]
